Frequent itching, alopecia, heavy hair loss, wounds. With the clinical director, who holds a certified postgraduate qualification in veterinary dermatology (GPCert, ISVPS).

If tests are needed, they are run on the clinic’s own equipment: blood, urine and fluids, with results in a few minutes.
Blood pressure
Hypertension gives no signs. It gives numbers.
Feline and canine hypertension is common, silent and, for that very reason, under-diagnosed: waiting for a symptom means arriving late.
That is why at PetDoctors the measurement is not an extra requested by owners who already suspect something. It is taken at every consultation, whatever the age of the dog or cat.

Not a new idea here
In June and July 2017 the clinic ran a screening campaign for feline and canine hypertension: measurement-only consultations, discounts on anti-hypertensive medication, a blood profile aimed at the causes and consequences, urine tests to confirm doubtful values, and a report of the measurements to take home.
Why here
The clinical director trained at the Royal Veterinary College in London, where she took part in prospective studies on feline and canine hypertension, and wrote her master’s thesis on the role of nitric oxide in the development of feline hypertension.
